Southern Fried Wrestling returns with possibly the biggest show of the year in Georgia. Here's a preview of the night's matches.
First off there is a Five Way Double Jeopardy match. The participants include the "Approved Apprentice" Kenji Brea who is out to prove that Adrian Hawkins made the right decision in bringing him to the Approved much to the leader of the Jimmy Rave Approved Jimmy Rave himself. Then there's Ike Cross who is looking to make his mark on his own and out of the umbrella of the 13th Floor. Johnny Nixx looks to keep improving his stock in the company with a chance to break out of the pack. Both Aaron Epic and Slade Porter are unfamiliar to Southern Fried fans but have made their mark in Florida and are looking to expand their influence in Georgia. In this match there must two winners and they face off at the next Southern Fried in Covington on October 14 for a chance at the Phase 1 Trophy holder Brian Kane (who still hasn't cashed in his title shot).
Chip Day vs Cory Hollis. Two of best all around wrestlers in the area who have met several times and continue to improve on every occasion. Hollis will surely once again prove that both NXT and RoH have made mistakes not putting pen to paper in signing him and Chip will continue to prove he is one of the most underrated wrestlers around.
Geter vs Tetchi Makuji. Monster vs Monster. This is a first ever match up between to the best big men currently in the ring. It took literally the entire locker room to separate these two behemoths the last time they collided in a brawl. The Felker Center may literally be torn done when they collide. Tetchi also has Dr Brock in his corner as well as the mysterious mist at his disposal. This match is a long time coming and judging by the reactions of the fans at the last show, the fans are thrilled it is happening.
Tag Team Titles: The Approved vs the Hooligans. This is The Hooligans debut in Southern Fried and they are starting in the deep end as they get a shot at the tag titles against Bobby Moore and Adrian Hawkins. The Hooligans are rough and tough and are making a name for themselves all over the country as one of the top teams which is what is needed to go against the Approved as they are in the process are creating a dynasty as they have held the titles since November winning them in the one night tournament. If Adrian wishes to assert him leadership in The Approved, he needs to have his team remain champs so more on the line for the champs than just the titles.
Grudge Match: Drew Blood vs Todd Sexton. May be the anticipated fight (not match) on the show. Drew Blood has poked and prodded Todd Sexton and finally crossed the line when he forced himself on Sexton's wife Kelly. Kelly however proved she was no damsel in distress as she slapped the crap out of Drew Blood which prompted Sexton to come to his wife's aid only to be ambushed by Blood with a chain. Things escalated even more with Blood claiming he was one who was seduced by Kelly Sexton. However, Blood's not the only one playing mind games as Sexton dressed as a security guard to get a small measure of revenge. Blood has successfully coaxed Sexton out of retirement(again) and stepped away from his duties as Matchmaker to seek revenge for his wife. With Dr Brock a factor as well as Kelly Sexton saying she will stand by her man it makes for a chaotic situation.
Sexton proclaimed that "The War has just begun" but in war there are casualties and JB Enterprises as taken quite a few such as Jagged Edge's career, Sal Rinauro, and Rick Michaels so this situation is uneasy in certain ways. The term grudge match has never been more appropriate.
30 Minute Iron Man Match: Jeremiah the Gladiator vs Jimmy Rave. Its a rivalry that has been dormant for some time but started at Shindig last year when they met met for the first time in Southern Fried. Jeremiah was known as Slim J at the time and scored the victory. They met again in at the Marquee show where rave even the scored. The rivalry was supposed to be decided at the November show in a best of 3 falls match but even though Jeremiah scored the only pinfall in the match, Jimmy Rave still one by way of DQ and countout in the other falls. A finale has been in the works for a while but do to scheduling issues and injuries the match has not been able to take place until now. If Jimmy Rave can keep his issues with his stablemates in Rave Approved in check this has all the makings of a classic.
Heavyweight Title Match: Odinson defending against Mikal Judas. They have only met one time one on one and there was no winner so it remains to be seen who will be the victor between these two super athletes. Judas lost the title at Shindig in a fatal Four Way match when all 3 other competitors teamed together to eliminate Judas. Odinson eventually won the match and the title that night and this is Judas' rematch. Judas is an icon who has been in the big matches and is the attraction who inspires awe. Odinson has thus far looked great as champion with impressive wins over Drew Blood and one of the best matches in the history of Southern Fried retaining against Jimmy Rave. Is this the passing of the torch or will the Priest of Punishment reclaim his throne?
