Extreme Grappling Oriented Wrestling presents "It's A Wonderful Fight" at the National Guard Armory in Athens, TN
First off I will start out by saying this is one of the most professional set ups I have seen in the Tennessee area.
1. Cosmic Wisdom (Skylar Sage and Wayne Moxey) vs. First Gen (James Anthony and Victor Andrews)
Anthony and Andrews are a great tag team that has a certain chemistry together that can wow a crowd. Sage was a great heel and his mic work was great and garnered a great heel response Moxey has an athletic aura about him as he flew gracefully through the ring, but in the end First Gen picked up the win via Submission.
2. Mike Excellence vs. JD Rollins
These two guys started off hot with Excellence trying to get away only to be met by a flying JD Rollins who showed great aggression, but Excellence being a bit of short powerhouse was able to take control easily. Excellence plays the heel role with great excellence, (pun intended). However in a moment of arguing with the crowd he lost focus and JD took back over, the Scissors kick by JD looked horrible in every sense of the word, after stopping another attempt at offense, JD cut Excellence off and got the pin fall. Good match overall.
Barry Allen addressed the crowd and told them he was going to be stepping away for a while and attempted to introduce his replacement but was cut off by Warren Peace who told him he was tired of kissing ass and that was going to change, however Allen cut him off and introduced his replacement, Daddy Mack.
3. (Grand Championship) Tiger Kidd vs. Hairband vs. Jaden Newman vs. Smiley
After Newman told the other three wrestlers he was going to beat them, they all three got a number two chant going and proceed to super kick Newman. It broke into complete chaos pretty early on with everyone getting a bit of offense in on each other. Hairband took control of the match and showed great athleticism, but got cut off by Tiger, who then got cut off by Newman who quickly started taking care of business until hairband caught him with a super kick, however it was not enough to stop Newman until Tiger caught him with some flying forearms and was able to knock Newman out for the pin fall to retain the title. Great match by all four men who should be proud of their performance. Tiger Kidd got a number two chant directed at Jaden after the match.
4. Ricky Valentine (with Warren Peace) vs. Cameron Martinez
This started off with Valentine punishing Martinez in the corner, However Martinez was able to turn it around for just a second until Valentine got the upper hand yet again, punishing Martinez on the outside. Valentine had an answer for everything Martinez tried, and completely dominated throughout. However Martinez did manage to get some offense in only to be distracted by Peace throwing a chair in which allowed Valentine to get the pin. This match was pretty good Martinez sold everything great and Valentine looked great offensively.
5. The Strain (Jayke Murphy and Mad Dog) vs. Young Bloodz (Spoony Mack and Big O) in a 2 out of 3 falls count anywhere match.
It started off with Spoony getting pinned by Murphy pretty quickly, and turns into chaos soon thereafter. These guys were all over the place and it soon became hard to keep up. However Mad Dog did throw Big O into the metal door as Spoony hit Jayke with a bottle of water while Big O poured Fritos all over Mad Dog. Nice double team by The Strain as they tried to put Big O away to no avail. Spoony drove Mad Dog into the steel post. Double roll up by Young Bloodz to get both pin falls at once to win 2 to 1. Good match that was very enjoyable. After the match Mad Dog gave Murphy a DDT.
6. Jay Sparks vs. Menace for the No Limits Television Championship
Menace starts off with a headlock, and transitioned into a unique submission. The much larger sparks however took over on offense pretty quickly and really laid in some chops, only for Menace to counter with chops of his own, which popped the crowd nicely. Eventually this match became a hard hitting slugfest with both men beating the crap out of each other. Both men moved very well for their size and threw in a bit of fast paced movement from Menace; however he was unable to put away Sparks. After a botched attempt to heave Menace outside, Sparks was caught with an enziguri to the nose. Sparks would rebound quickly, and catch Menace with a cookie crunch that Menace would escape from and roll Sparks up for the win to retain the title. Overall it was a great match and a good way to end a great show.
Final Verdict: It was a great show overall with good wrestling, I am very glad I went and thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was honestly one of the best shows I have seen inside the state of Tennessee.
